Our mission at SmartGirlTees is to design T-shirts that recognize the diverse qualities that can make any girl a smart girl. We want to encourage girls to be proud of their intelligence, talents and individuality. It is our hope that when girls wear our T-shirts they will feel confident and inspired to be their best.
To support girls and women of all ages to be their best, we will donate a portion of all profits to charitable organizations that advance our mission.
How We Started SmartGirlTeesInc
In the summer of 2006 Gayle Ephraim was watching her daughter's gymnastics practice when she saw a 9 year old girl wearing a t-shirt that said "Flirting is not a crime". Gayle thought "There must be something better than that for girls to say on their t-shirts." Well, there wasn't. So she and her sister-in-law, Francine Ephraim decided to make something better. And SmartGirlTees was born.
Gayle and Francine are both proud to be SmartGirls. Gayle is both a practicing doctor and an involved mom for her two daughters. Francine is an elementary teacher by training. Francine chose to be a stay-at-home mom while her children were young (she has a boy and a girl) but is now happy to be entering the business world. Both Francine and Gayle hope that SmartGirls everywhere will find a message that suits their style and expresses their strengths. And remember, we are open to your suggestions too!
